I’ve lived in West Carleton for 12 years and have long been frustrated by the lack of high speed internet service. I’m at a stage in my life where I don’t necessarily want to have to go into the office every day. A few years ago I tried a wireless solution from another, much larger ISP. It cost thousands of dollars, was very unreliable, and they treated me like they were doing me a favour by selling me the service. Things were so bad I went back to dial-up. When Northwind Wireless came along I decided to try again and was pleasantly surprised. The service is very cost-effective and the performance allows me to work effectively while my kids are playing Xbox Live. Northwind is very customer-focused. Response times for service calls are very fast; I once had a technician pull into my driveway 10 minutes after I phoned!

Plenty of ISPs have promised to bring reliable, cost-effective, wireless broadband to our community. Northwind is the only company that has delivered on that promise.

Since moving to MacLaren's Landing almost 4 years ago we had been using satellite internet, the only option besides dial-up available that gave us some type of high speed connection. We required this as I run my Web Design business from home and my husband also services some of his clients from his home office using VPN. We were becoming increasing unhappy with the "high speed" we were getting (especially uploads in my case) through the satellite provider, not to mention the monthly cost of over $100. Speeds had degenerated to the point that I would switch to dial-up for better access during peak business hours.

Then we heard that rural broadband wireless was coming to West Carleton. We immediately began to research the companies offering this and attended local meetings to meet with the various parties involved. After looking into all the options we settled on waiting for NorthWind Wireless to bring service to MacLaren's Landing. We could not have made a better decision. Last month we had our receiver installed and in less than an hour we were surfing at lightning fast speeds. Good bye and good riddance to satellite!

You have no idea how much less stress is now experienced in our home on a daily basis. I get my work done more efficiently and MUCH faster, the kids can be on their computers at the same time as their use no longer bogs down my access, the service is great with both lightening fast downloads AS WELL AS upload speed, which are a must when I upload a large number of files on a daily basis!

I have been working with Dave McKeen and NorthWind wireless since early 2005. I was a test subject for NorthWind wireless. As with any company starting out, there were some growing pains. Dave and Mathew were and still are always quick to respond to my support calls, which have become very few for quite some time now. I work from home and my internet service is a top priority. I would recommend NorthWind to anyone who is in need of internet service.

I don't even know where to begin in thanking you and your team of NorthWind Wireless for thinking of providing me with high speed.

I was, since moving to Quyon back in 2003 an internet user but like everybody else here, dial-up was the only solution, and I tell you coming from the city with videotron high speed to dial-up is a culture shock.

Sometime ago I looked into satellite because it was offered to our neighbours down in Shawville from their telephone company Télébec but they couldn't serve me because of territory rights and Bell Canada was not offering this anymore, there was telesat that was offering it but the costs and speed was not really worth still having a phone line to upload files and messages.

Then, in July 2006 you came around and told me that you wish to offer me high speed. At first I was reluctant to investigate and just listened to what you had to say because I thought I had looked at all ways to get high speed where I live by the river and this was to good to be true, it was like everything or every time something like this happens I lack the knowledge of the essence so I need to look into it and investigate. I did look into and investigated this technology you offer and found out that this method of transmitting is the way of future, reliable, user friendly, cost is affordable and, above all the speed is great both ways (Upload-Download).

Now that I am a subscriber of NorthWind Wireless and a provider with transmitters on my property for future users up the Ottawa river towards Quyon my internet speed is like WOW, superior than anticipated, there is no down time, I was able to free up my telephone line, and the list goes on and on. I am truly gifted to have been approached by you on this technology and would like to reach out and offer you my sincere thanks and God speed as they say in providing this for everyone else so they can share in this truly amazing offering.

As new customers of NorthWind Wireless high speed internet in Constance Bay, we'd like to let you know how much we appreciate the dedication, investment and effort you have put into bringing high speed internet to our community.

We have been enjoying our high speed internet service since the end of OCtober. It is a pleasure to be able to turn on the computer at any time of the day, every day, and have immediate access to high speed internet. We really love it. The service is reliable and we have never yet had any "down time" in our service. It is so much better the the dial-up service we had previously! Once the start-up installation and equipment charges are paid for, the monthly price is reasonable and competitive.

We really appreciate having the speed and convenience of this service and thank you and your colleagues for your efforts in this endeavour. We hope that your business will continue to grow and flourish in our community.

I would like to give some positive feedback on my experience over the last few months. I'm connected to your WiFi technology and operate my home office using Nortel VPN technology and loving every minute of it:)

Some of my daily activities include VPN, VoIP, PC anywhere, manage and configure/support to our Global infrastructure. I also have multiple OS's operating over this UNIX, WinXP, WIN2K. Having the ability to share this access with my family means we no longer have to schedule Internet time at home... kids can now access the Internet using theo own PC anywhere, anytime.

In closing... I would like to say well done guys! Good to see the rural full-time tele-workers having reliable broadband service.

We have been fortunate enough to be one of the initial subscribers to the high speed Internet service being offered to the community by NorthWind Wireless Limited. We have had this service for the last four months and we have been extremely pleased with the quality of the service being provided. Being an individual with little technical expertise, I found the technicians to be both helpful and patient when hooking up our service. I have recommended NorthWind Wireless to others in the community and will continue to do so in the future. I wish them much success in this endeavour, a valuable service to our community.
